The services are operational 7 nights per week, providing tailored care and accommodation for approximately 30 young people. Families can book respite in advance as and when they need the break and not vice versa. Provision is based on the specific needs of each of the young people supported. A minimum ratio of 3 staff members to 4 young people is maintained during daytime hours and waking night staff and sleep ins will be available throughout each night.
The Big House is CQC registered is purpose built to provide accommodation young people with nursing and personal care provide respite provision for up to three young people at a time. It has a large lounge, dining room with kitchen and lounge and one-bedroom land a toilet is located on the ground floor. Two bedrooms, big bathroom with a separate shower and office are located upstairs. There is a self-contained day room with its own shower and toilet. The building has its own gym and a garden and play area that is safe, secure fully disabled accessible. The project owns a 7-seater to enable the young people to access the local community and travel away from the project on daytrips, local visits and events.
